Mel has some amazing scrapbooking class options for the year ahead and there is something for every skill level and every budget. Make sure you pop by the store to see all of the samples for these classes in person, being able to see them up close gives you a sense of all of the amazing details that aren’t always seen in a photo. Here’s what to keep an eye out for….

“Limited Edition” is a fully kitted class with full instructions for 2 double page layouts, and is amazing value for money. Each month the kit inclusions change and it is perfect for people who are wanting to learn fabulous techniques all while learning how to make the most of the patterned papers and the embellishments. During class we create one of the double page layouts, leaving one for you to take home and work on at your own pace. We offer this class once a month on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:30am till 12 noon. Any remaining kits are available for purchase at the store if you are unable to make it to class.

Our “Storyteller” class gives everyone a chance to reimagine the divided page protectors and turn them into a beautiful home for recording those personal stories and giving your layouts a much needed interactive element. We are finding that people are using these double sided elements as an additional way to use even more images and add to pre existing layouts. It really has become a firm favourite for our customers on a Saturday so we have added a mid week class on a Thursday to give more people a chance to join the fun. A small kit of basics is included in the class cost, you get to add whatever patterned papers and colours you like. Mel has created invaluable ideas on how to make your storytelling even more special with a fabulous journalling prompt to help advance beyond the basics. Storyteller is on the 1st Saturday of the month at 1pm till 3:30pm as well as the Thursday, please check the class calendar for further details.

Artisan Market Recap

Last Friday evening saw A Place to Create hold their second Handmade and Pop Up Artisan Market ever! Everyone involved had a fabulous evening, and we were so excited to welcome back so many return vendors as well as some new stallholders too! We would like to take some time to share with you all the wonderful local and small businesses that took part in the markets…

Store owner, Karenina, officially opening the markets and welcoming everyone!

As you arrived at the store, you were greeted by the smell of The Vintage Palm Bespoke Van coffee.

Then by the entrance were a range of different plants for sale – lovingly grown and tended to by Sharon herself!

Before heading inside, each attendee was, of course, required to sanitise their hands before entry to the markets. How cute is this…

As we headed through the store, in the middle section we were greeted by the smiling faces of Marji from Drought Angels and Cathy from Happy Heart Art!

Drought Angels is a cause that the store has been supporting throughout the year and is a charity with the enviable reputation of being recognised for their genuine heartfelt connection to and support of primary producers across Australia, in their time of need.

Across the way was Cathy of Happy Heart Art with beautiful handmade pieces. You can check out Happy Heart’s instagram page by simply clicking here.

Then we head out into the large classroom turned market space! And here are all the wonderful stalls that were on offer…

Stella and Dash (click to head to their site!) had a huge selection of handmade earrings, keychains, lanyards, hair clips and more.

Shabby Vintage Journals and Crafts had some beautiful vintage goodies and more! You can check out their Facebook page here.

These amazing print designs are the work of Tamika from Bee Adornable! Visit the Bee Adornable Facebook page here.

Four Little Giggles showcased a range of princess halo braided wigs, unicorn headbands, reversible fabric crowns, and forever fabric flower arrangements. All unique. All one of kind. Visit their page here.

Next up is Beli Art with these fantastic pieces! You can contact Belinda on 0439806898 for any enquiries for your own Beli Art!

We also welcomed Metal Magic Blacksmithing who specialise in all things metal, handmade and unique! Their contact details are or you can give them a call on 0421328329.

Check out these intricate handmade Christmas Baubles made by Lisa Karger! These were a hit and we purchased a bunch for ourselves last markets to decorate our in store tree!

This fun and bright stand belongs to Fiona’s Felt Creations! All handmade with love, Fiona had a large selection of felt Christmas ornaments for people, pets and everything in between!

These beauties belong to Carmel’s Stained Glass and Mosaics stall. How spectacular are they!

These colourful creations are the works of Kar Chee Resin Designs with a range of platter boards, trays and lazy susans. You can get in touch with them on 0407598178!

These markets saw the return of many stallholders from our first market, including Miss E Pottery (click here for their Instagram page). Miss E Pottery goodies are also available on Etsy.

These amazing hand drawn pieces and hand decorated gift bags are by Bossy Flossy!

This stall belonged to Colleen from Red Fox Macrame from our first markets, and we were thrilled to see her beautiful macrame skills on show at our second market too!

We also welcomed back Angel Scents Candles by Kathleen with a range of beautifully scented hand poured candles.

Amparo had these festive themed goodies for sale at her stall with plenty of items perfect for Christmas gifting!

Katrina’s Personalised Gifts returned to these markets with her wide range of personalised gifts!

Handmade Cards by Jenny Cain was also a return vendor to the markets with her spectacular cards for every occasion!

We had a fabulous evening at our second ever Handmade Pop Up and Artisan Market. We would like to take the time to thank all the incredible creators who do what they do, and to all the market goers for supporting small business and choosing to shop local. It really means the world to us!

Until next time,

Karenina and the team at A Place to Create
