Bookings Now Open For 2-Day Classes with Celebr8 @ APTC!

Hey there scrapbookers,

We are very excited to advise Jenny Heaslip Scrapbooker and Erin Bruton from Celebr8 are coming back to A Place to Create on Saturday 22nd June and Sunday 23rd June 2024.

Bookings are open now, costs is $105 per day. This cost covers 2 classes plus tea and coffee. A light lunch can be provided for an an extra $10.

Forever Sweet Layout Class with Sue Smyth

On Saturday 27th April 10:00am to 2:00pm Sue Smyth will be showing us her latest layout – ‘Forever Sweet’ – using papers from the beautiful ‘Queen of Hearts’ paper range from Colour Blast by Bee Arty

You will create the distressed chipboard heart and alter chipboard embellishments. There is some stenciling effect as well as fussy cutting. The flowers in the kit may alter slightly however will be perfect for altering either way.

Available to purchase as a kit is the beautiful ‘White Rabbit’ Folio. This is a detailed mini album for you to add photos or tags. You can create the faux leather paper from ordinary brown paper to cover your folio. Again using the Queen of Hearts papers from Colour Blast by Bee Arty you can decorate the cover & inside to fold up into a compact album. There is a lot of detail, fussy cutting as well as full instructions to create this lovely folio album. Flowers may vary to the photo shown.

HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND APTC – WORKSHOPS WITH CRISTINA FROM STAMPERIA

We are so excited to welcome Cristina Radovan from Stampria to APTC this weekend. There is still time to book into one of the classes on Saturday 20th April.

By using many mediums, there will be plenty to learn from Cristina who is a teacher as well as a designer and as we know, has an excellent reputation. We are very lucky to have another international teacher visit APTC in less than a year so take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Saturday 20th 9.00am to 1pm – THE PERPETUAL CALENDAR

This is truly a very unique piece. Perpetual means that you will not have to discard this calendar at the end of each year. You will create this calendar using pastes, stencils, moulded elements, rice paper & more. This will be decorated using the Coffee and Chocolate range designed by Cristina.

Saturday 20th April 2.00pm to 6.00pm – SONGS OF THE SEA MINI ALBUM

This is a mini album that you will construct with expert guidance. Again, you will be using different mediums to create many textures as the photo shows. The album will be coloured to give the impression of age and materials will be used to create this look.

Sunday 21st April 9.00am – 1.00pm – 4 NOTEBOOKS FULY BOOKED

There are 4 notebooks that will each have a different finish – more techniques to learn. The Coffee & Chocolate range will be used and this project will be a great accompaniment to the afternoon class…….

Sunday 21st April 2.00pm – 6.00pm NOTEBOOK ORGANISER FULLY BOOKED

The organiser is A5 and has 4 elastic attachments. You will see in the photo there are decorative moulds that have been used and you will be shown how to achieve the effect on the cover using papers and paints. The organiser is also going to be lined and this is a superb way of storing the 4 notebooks that you made earlier in the day! The Coffee & Chocolate paper range is being used for this project.

Furniture Restoration Workshop!

The first ‘Introduction to Furniture Restoration’ class was hosted by VonBoo at A Place to Create on Sunday the 7th of April. It was fabulous to see the amazing transformations and thank you so much to everyone who supported the class. We welcomed new customers who had not been to APTC before and thank you for your wonderful feedback. Big shout out to VonBoo for being such a marvelous teacher and to MINT by michelle for supplying top-quality products. The next class is already booked for the 16th of June where Von will show us the art of Decoupage – more details will be available in May.
