Mixed Media with Tracey White, “Chirping Bird Canvas”

Requirements for Class

Canvas/ Art Journal / Wood Panel/ Hatbox etc

You will need an image for this class. I have used Dress My Craft – Chirping Bird Transfer (A4 size), You could also use a rice paper image.

Please see the girls at A Place To Create if you need to purchase a transfer, they have a great range, you do not have to have the same image as mine!

If you are doing the transfer technique you will need a shallow tray, slightly larger that A4 ( like a
baking tray)

For this class your background needs to be prepped with gesso, if you are doing the project onto another surface besides canvas ie hatbox/suitcase etc you will also need after gesso, to basecoat your surface in a white/off white chalk paint.

Water Sprayer
Matt spray sealer (if u have it)
Vintage paper – ie dictionary, music or old book paper
Matt Medium
Walnut spray or any brown colour spray you own
White Texture/Modeling Paste
Palette knife/ plastic spatula
Blending brushes or wedge makeup sponges
Fan Brush
Baby Wipes

We will be using stencils and masks in this project if you have some of your own, please bring along : Bricks, various leaves, flower buds etc
Use of acrylic paints and antiquing medium will be supplied in class. If you have a different coloured theme to the sample, please bring along a few acrylic paint colours to match your image.

This is a fun class to stretch your imagination and build skills as you layer up your design, also a great time to learn how to use transfers in your projects.
