brisbane cardmaking, brisbane northside craft, BRISBANE'S BIGGEST SCRAPBOOK STORE, classes, Scrapbook classes Brisbane

Can you believe half the year is gone already?

It’s all been a bit surreal but we have all done really well to keep ourselves and each other safe in Australia and hope we can continue to be mindful and safe as we resume activities.

Tomorrow sees us reopen our classroom and we are beyond excited.

The calendar is packed for July and we also have visiting businesses like Stella and Dash visiting with their first in store ear ring making class on Monday 27th July also.  All bookings are direct through Stella and Dash so it’s not on the calendar but we would love to see you enjoy yourself at this class also.

We popped Suzie in for two days – a Saturday and Sunday to help get over how long it’s been since we did mixed media with her.  Beginners are welcome to attend her classes as the class is slow paced with demonstrations and then creative times staggered.

Remember our Wednesday scrap and chats are FREE 10am – 3pm however we must have bookings for these as we manage numbers and undertake the necessary arrangements for cleaning and spacing.

We would presume it goes without saying now that if you are displaying any cold or flu like symptoms, high temperatures or sore throat, that you stay home and seek medical advice before returning to social activities.

Please do not attempt to attend classes if you are unwell as we will have to ask you to leave for the comfort and safety of everyone.  Many thanks in advance for your co-operation as we work through this unprecedented event and reopening of the classroom.

Hope to see you in store soon!

NEW SUPER SIZED CLASSROOM BRINGS NEW EXCITEMENT FOR 2020

Happy Sunday everyone!!!
If you haven’t visited one of Brisbane’s fabulous scrapbooking, papercraft and mixed media stores, we invite you to come and have a look around.
The store is under the new management of Karenina Maitland Taylor and is alive with new opportunities, exciting events and familiar staff you have come to know and trust to guide you.
We often have people visit who are surprised at the size of the store after entering the front door.
The view from the street doesn’t do justice to the amount of space we have inside and after visiting stores across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, I can honestly say that A Place to Create is one of the largest and best stocked stores in the country.
Despite having 5 rooms of stock, we still have a small class area which can be used for smaller classes and scrap and chats but we also have a very large air conditioned space.
This new air conditioned space and comfort has allowed us to expand our class options for 2020 as well as invite talented teachers to share their passion with you.

We will also be hiring this room  out this year so if you have a group (be it craft or otherwise) and need a large air conditioned space for whatever it is you want to do, please enquire with Karenina on 3851 2200 or email info@aplacetocreate.com.au

Last weekend we saw the gorgeous Erin Bruton from Celebr8 South Africa and
Jenny Heaslip from Celebr8 Australia, entertain 100 ladies.
Next weekend on Saturday 22nd February, sees the vibrant Yvette Fanciulli join us to get messy and colourful with Uniquely Creative and Dylusions products in a class open to both scrapbookers and card makers alike.
On March 14th, the space will transform into one of Brisbane’s biggest craft de-stash sales where crafters will offload their unwanted crafting materials and shoppers will revel in the wonderous finds and bargains to be had.
Join our event on facebook to stay updated and be reminded so you don’t miss out.
On the last weekend of March, another local talent, Michelle Grant joins us for 3 fabulous class opportunities.  Saturday 28th March will see participants partake in a full day of mixed media mayhem exploring many techniques with mixed media elements.
Whether you are a card maker or scrapbooker, the techniques remain the same – just the size changes so this class is a must for anyone wanting an introduction to mixed media or try new techniques.
Sunday will consist of 2 classes and you can stay updated by joining the event on Facebook.
All the details for upcoming classes can be found on our Classes / Events tab and some can also be found on Facebook Events which you can join to stay updated.
Thanks so much for joining us here and we hope to see you in store really soon as your custom and support is what allows us to stay open – supporting small businesses and bricks and mortar stores is becoming increasingly important in this digital age.
Have a wonderful Sunday and do visit us soon.

SAVE THE DATE

You will need to save the date
Tuesday 19th September
 for our next exciting guest,

Here’s what she has to say about herself:

Hello there, my name is Anguree, and I am super excited  to be teaching in Brisbane.

I am married to an wonderful guy and as you may know, I also  live in beautiful Darwin.

Fun fact: I love to travel but sometimes my all responsible self gets left at home and the crazy 6 year old within me comes along… On one holiday I have bungee jumped with both a pushbike and a scooter. Why, you ask me? Uhmm I wanted the photo… 😉😜

I was introduced into Scrapbooking somewhere in 2005 and have been addicted ever since.  I generally scrap 12×12 pages, but also making cards, tags art journaling and off the page projects. My style vary from grungy to shabby but I dare say no style is off limits. Experimenting with new techniques and products keeps me engaged and inspired. It makes it fun and allows me to jump between different styles depending on the products I choose to use.

I am incredibly honoured and blessed to be chosen as Cardmaker of the year for Simply Cards Magazine and am serving on a number of different design teams. I  really treasure the  friendships I have been able to build with those who I meet and work with and am blessed to call many of them my friends.

I scrap and craft because it makes me happy. I love to share this love and share the joy it gives me with others in the hope that it will encourage them to play along and find the same kind of happiness. To me it’s all about sharing the little things that makes life a happier place.

****************************

At this stage, the plan is for Anguree to teach maybe 2 classes, one cardmaking and one layout.

The projects are still being finalised but fingers crossed we can all make this work.

Be sure to email or phone (07 3851 2200)  the store to register your expression of interest so we can make sure we keep you updated as details unfold.
Below are some of Anguree’s amazing projects, many of which have been published…

You can also visit Anguree’s blog to learn more about her amazing talent and follow her creations.

Hope you like her work as much as we do.
