This week the newest collections from Australian designer and owner of Studio 73, Joanne Bain, hit the shelves at A Place to Create and we expect they will be as popular as her previous collections!


As many of you know, we pride ourselves on supporting Australian businesses wherever possible and practical and Studio 73 is one such business.  Located right here in outer Brisbane, Joanne has been in the scrapbooking industry for years designing for many well known brands and has this year decided to turn her hand to designing her own collections which has proved very successful for her.  We are proud to have supported her in this journey and hope to bring her in store one day to meet you all.

Spooky Hollow is of course coming just in time for Halloween and is a mini collection where all the papers are provided in one pack and there are no individual elements to buy separately. The Spooky Hollow Mini Collection is all about the fun of Halloween – it features spooky pumpkins and creepy cats, all in the Halloween colours of purple, orange and black.

With the Jingle all the Way collection, you can purchase it as either a full collection pack or individual papers and cut apart sheets.

Jingle All The Way is a beautiful neutral coloured Christmas collection featuring gorgeous images for fussy cutting and natural wooden background to allow your layouts of cards to pop. If you love the festive feel, this collection is for you.


We have been bringing Studio 73 to you since its inception earlier this year and we look forward to hopefully bringing you lots more from them in the future.

NEW TRADING HOURS

Hi everyone, 

As things start to resume some sense of normality in our lives, we have planned our July class schedule and it is already jam packed. 
Adding in two extra Sunday trading days in July has allowed us to bring you even more exciting classes too.
The Doozey Chicks are returning on Tuesday 30th June, we let them sneak in a day early since they’re so keen to get back!
Free Scrap and Chat sessions return on Wednesdays and Thursdays for now
and Sharon returns to card making classes Friday mornings and one Saturday class.
Mel will be back on the first and third Saturday of each month with all her fabulous scrapbook class options
and
Suzie will be exciting us with not one but two mixed media classes in July to kick off the excitement.
And as if that’s not enough, the fabulous and fun Yvette will be rejoining us for a fun packed Sunday with a card making class in the morning and a layout class in the afternoon. We are yet to confirm if this layout class can again be done as cards during the class but we will be sure to let you know once Yvette lets us know.

We are still exercising social distancing measures and we have the classroom set up to ensure you have your own table at this stage and it is adequately spaced from the surrounding tables. Along with all our other routine cleaning procedures in place now, 
the room will be cleaned before and after class and sanitiser is still being provided upon entry to the shop to help keep all items safe inside.
Please help us keep everyone safe by helping to follow the guidelines.

UPDATE ON CLASSES, CROPS AND RETREATS RESUMING

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported this wonderful shop over the past few months and now slowly we can start looking forward to getting back to some kind of normality. 
We are happy to announce that as from 1st July,
we will be resuming additional activities at APTC.
Careful consideration was made in conjunction with the
current guidelines on how we, as a business,
can practically ensure everyone can feel confident that they
will be in a safe environment.
Obviously we will all take responsibility to continue the social distancing rules, hygiene will be of paramount importance and if you are feeling unwell the advice is to stay at home
Together Queenslanders have slowed the spread of COVID-19
by staying at home. 
As a result, the Queensland Government will continue to ease restrictions on movement within Queensland.
As you may be aware as from the 12th June, Stage 2 commences which means the restrictions will be lifted to include a gathering of up to 20 people – this number will include any staff on the premises.
Stage 3 starts on the 10th July where there can be gatherings of up to 100 people – subject to review.
All the teachers have been consulted and are happy to resume classes in store from this date. We will provide dates of classes etc in the July calendar which will be posted on Facebook and the Blog in the next couple of weeks.
With regard to the August retreat,
we will be visiting the premises next week to ascertain
the numbers that can be safely accommodated and in particular
assessing the overnight accommodation options.
We will communicate the way forward regarding this in the next few weeks.
With this in mind and to ensure we are adhering to the guidelines,
please may we we ask that for any classes you would like to attend
 that you please book in advance and at that point we would take payment to secure your place. 
Should numbers exceed the recommended guidelines,
you will be advised and ongoing discussions with the teachers
concerned will enable us to make decisions about holding extra classes
when and if possible. 
For all those who have already booked and paid for Melissa Struhs’ classes,
we will be contacting you all over the next few weeks to confirm attendance.
Free Crops will resume on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 3pm and we will have dates for the Saturday crops included in the July calendar. 
Thank you for your patience with regard to us making this decision and before you know it, you will be catching up and crafting together………

AN EASTER WISH

Hello everyone, 
Today at the start of the Easter weekend, I thought I would share a few pics of my little family in ‘isolation’. 
 It’s Trevie’s birthday next weekend and an early delivery of his present meant he had to have a go.  
Lady McKelpie aka Annie and Bundle the Poodle are relishing the attention and the lorikeets loved having a bath.  
From our home to yours, we wish you a peaceful Easter.

A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER

Today, Sunday 29th March is the last day that A Place to Create will be open for any general shopping between 10am and 12noon.  
Appointments will be available between 12 and 2pm for private shopping sessions so that we can ensure your isolation.
Please read this important announcement regarding our plans moving forward at this stage.

SHOP FROM HOME VIA FACETIME

After introducing many new measures over the last few weeks to help protect our staff and customers, this week we are introducing more new features and services.
The most exciting of these are our new Shopping Fairies……not to be confused with Fairy Shopping – there will be no fairies available to buy at A Place to Create, just fabulous Fairy helpers who will help you shop via Facetime!!!
To help you keep yourself and your family safe, we are introducing shopping fairies this week who will help you shop via Facetime so you can stay safe at home or work and see the shop in real time, in real life, and buy whatever you want. 
The fairies will drop whatever you want in the basket and after you’ve finished shopping, the fairy will go away and add up your total and contact you for payment. 
You can do a drive by to pick it up in the car park or we can deliver it to you (within a 20km radius of the shop). 

Simply ring the store to set up a time with one of our “shopping fairies”. 
Tuesday to Friday 9am – 4pm – Ph: 3851 2200
If you or your family have been compromised, please do what is best for the greater good.
To this end, we have also asked our staff to remain vigilant and remove themselves should they feel they have any concerns. 
In the meantime, we will continue trading and considering the daily information provided by our government and health officials.
Our staff will now wear masks when working in the front end of the store and customers are invited to wear their masks also. We will also be making gloves available and ask you to wear these when shopping or use the hand sanitisers provided as soon as entering the store and before leaving.
* The front page of our blog is now being used to show new items arriving in store with pricing so you can make purchases over the phone or via email.
* Facebook is being updated multiple times a day with information about classes and products etc so you can stay informed and not miss out on any goodies.
* Should you need items but cannot come in, please discuss with us alternative arrangements for a drive through pick up or courier / delivery options.
We are confident that given the layout of our store with multiple divided rooms and the size of the shop that we can safely carry on business under current guidelines.
