Retreat Timetable 14th, 15th and 16th of October 2011 - Brisbane

We look forward to seeing you at our very first retreat for A Place to Create. This event has been designed to be user friendly allowing you to participate in as much or as little as you wish.

We will kick off the retreat with a relaxed Friday night crop where all are welcome. Saturday brings 6 classes in total with the crop starting at 1pm through to midnight. Sunday will have another 4 classes for you to choose from and cropping will start at 9.30am through till 4pm.

You can simply choose the classes you are interested in and book. There is no limit to the number of classes you book as long as you only select one class from each time slot.

This retreat gives you the best of both worlds. Crop to your heart’s content with the opportunity to participate in classes as you desire- you can just pop out of the crop to attend classes as necessary.

If you do not wish to join in the crop sessions you may just come along for classes as you wish.

Pre paid booking are essential, payments may be made over the phone 3851 2200 or in store.

Please note that the venue is licenced therefore you cannot bring alcohol however you may bring a snack if participating in the late night crop session. Tea, coffee and water will be made available throughout the crops

No meals are included with class bookings but can be booked separately.

Crops may be attended on either day or book for both and save.

GENERAL CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Brown ink pad for distressing edges

Scalpel or craft knife /scissors

Adhesives eg. Tape runner for layout classes, double sided tape, glue, foam tape / 3 D mounting squares / glue dots
Distressing tool and sanding block

Bone scorer for card classes

Pen/ pencil/eraser and ruler
Awl/Paper piercer

Special requirements for:
Cuttlebug Class:
Dust Buddy (available in store)
Cuttlebug machine if you have one

Always Remember Quilted Tile Canvas class:
Strong glue (eg: Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive)

Friday night 14^th October

Friday night Crop

Join us for a crop Friday night from 6pm till midnight. Access to the room from 6pm, bring the projects you are working on or purchase a layout kit. Bring your tools and equipment and enjoy a relaxed evening with other scrappers.

Have your dinner before you come or you can order dinner from the menu at the Brook to be delivered to your cropping area. Alcohol can be purchased from the bar during the evening.

Venue: Annex room located at the far end of the Tennyson room, easy access through side door from back car park on Crazy Clarks side.

Tea/Coffee, water and nibbles will be available.

Cost: $10 per head.

Crops on Saturday and Sunday:

Crop Session A: Saturday crop is located in the Tennyson Room. Crop starts from 1pm through to midnight and includes dinner – $35 (Please Note: Tennyson room is not available until after 1pm Saturday)

Crop Session B: Sunday crop is also located in the Tennyson Room. Crop starts from 9.30am through to 4pm – includes lunch – $30

Book into both Saturday and Sunday crops for total cost of $60 includes dinner Saturday and lunch Sunday.

Access to the Tennyson room for crops can be gained via the Motel reception at the rear of the Brook Hotel.

Classes for the Weekend:
Will be held in the Annex room and easy access can be gained via the side door from the back car park on Crazy Clark’s side if you are not attending the crop sessions.

Saturday 15^th October

Session: 1 9.30-11.30 (Graphic 45 Steam Punk Debutante wooden frame class has been postponed and a new class is now in it’s time slot)	Travel Journal- Create a 8 x 8″ Travel Journal or a personal Journal to hold all your private thoughts, photo’s, tickets and treasures. You will use the new Bonjour collection from Kaisercraft plus embellishments, threads, buttons, flowers and more. Love off the page projects? This will tick all the boxes. Includes all materials. (If you are unable to attend this class a kit can be purchased to work on as a project throughout the weekend) $50	‘Always Remember’ Quilted Tile Canvas Create a 40 x 40 canvas with paper tiles, delicate chipboard embellishments, mists, paint, pins, grand adhesions and more. This is the perfect way to display multiple photos of family and friends. All materials supplied. Create your own title with a full set of K & Co chipboard alphabets. $45

Session 2: 1 – 4pm	Calendar Creations. Create your very own calendar using a blank Making Memories calendar, then choose either Graphic 45 Steam Punk Debutante or Bo Bunny Forever Fall range. Use as a yearly calendar or as a special dates to remember calendar. Great gift idea for that special person. $65	10 Layouts Create a set of 10 quick and easy layouts with loads of tips and tricks. A fantastic way to kick start an album or get 10 pages created in no time at all. All materials included. You will need to bring both a permanent and repositional tape runner for this class plus basic tool kit and adhesives. $70
Session 3: 4.30-6.30pm	‘Pretty Card Set’ Make 5 pretty cards using Martha Stewart punches, 3 Bugs in a Rug ‘Bake me a Cake’ papers, Martha Stewart die cut lace tags, embellishments, bling, ribbons and more. $30	Accordion Album “What I want you to know about me’ You will create a whimsical accordion album in lilac and lime tones while you have the opportunity to reflect on what’s important to you. Not only does the class include all materials, you will have the opportunity to have your photo taken, edited fully with portrait professional software and emailed to your home address for you to keep. $40

Sunday 16^th October

Session: 1 10am -12	Christmas Cards. Create a co-ordinated set of 16 Christmas cards using a instruction template, Martha Punches, ribbons, embellishments and more. This class will get your Christmas cards started in a big way and the bonus is you get to keep the template so you can make more cards. Materials provided will be presented in a paper storage folder for you to keep. You will need to bring a ruler with ‘inch’ measurements for this class plus basic tool kit and adhesives. $35	“Flower Fantasy” Shadowbox Frame. This class is all about techniques, layers and creating a stunning framed layout to showcase your favourite photo. Use dies, embossing, alcohol inks, acetate, heat tools and more as you create this flower and butterfly themed masterpiece. Class kit includes Doodlebug 8 x 8 shadowbox frame, Prima papers, Prima flowers and use of all dies, folders and inks required to complete. $50

Session 2: 1 – 4pm	Cuttlebug Class. Make 6 Shabby Chic Vintage Scrapbooking layouts using a set of 6 Cuttlebug embossing folders (that you get to keep), Martha punches, sticker sheet, embellishments, ribbons and trims. You will learn how to emboss and sand core’dinations card stock to create that vintage look which co-ordinates beautifully with the Bo Bunny Et Cetera paper range. All this in your very own 12 x 12 paper storage satchel. $70	It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas’ rustic Christmas collection. You will create- 5 small recycled, 5 medium and 5 large raffia handled gift bags, a Kaisercraft wooden tree adorned with paper rosettes, Prima flowers and Melissa Frances hanging gemstones plus a Christmas bunting in co-ordinating papers and accessories to finish off your rustic Christmas collection. $70
